We are delighted to announce the appointment of Emma Hutton as our new CEO.
Emma will be joining us from the Scottish Human Rights Commission, where she has been Head of Communications and Engagement for 8 years, leading communications, public participation and partnership programmes to promote and protect people’s rights in Scotland. Emma will bring a combined 17 years’ leadership experience, gained in a variety of organisations across the social enterprise, third and public sectors, to support JustRight Scotland’s mission to defend and extend people’s rights.
Colin McKay, Chair of our Board of Trustees, said: “We couldn’t be more pleased that Emma is joining us to lead JRS through the next stage of its journey. She has a strong strategic sense, an impressive record of building partnerships to promote human rights, and solid management experience. Her values, energy and commitment make her a great fit for the organisation and the role.”
“I am thrilled and delighted to join JRS as CEO,” says Emma. “The law can and should be a powerful tool for securing social justice, equality and human rights. JRS’s work to use the law to defend and extend people’s rights has been pioneering and impressive in its first five years. I’m honoured to now bring my own experience and expertise to the team, and really look forward to working with the wonderful staff and trustees to lead JRS into the future. I can’t wait to get started!”
Emma will join our team in June 2022.
