We offer a range of free, confidential legal helplines and surgeries
Scottish Women’s Rights Centre
Our Scottish Women’s Rights Centre supports women aged 16 and over who have been affected by violence and abuse in Scotland.
These helplines are a first point of contact to speak about the issues affecting you and getting initial information and advice.
Important: From January 2022, the centre is temporarily changing how the helpline works. Experienced advocacy workers will now be handling your initial call and they will put you in touch with our solicitors if you need further advice. You can read more about these changes here.
Telephone: 08088 010 789

It is free to call our helpline from most mobile phones and landlines.
At times, our helpline can be extremely busy. Please keep trying to get through. Before calling, we also recommend you to check our resources as you might find information there that can assist you.
Advice surgery
Our legal advice surgeries are an opportunity to discuss your case in detail with one of our solicitors and get more specific legal advice.
We have different surgeries available depending on your circumstances:
- General advice surgeries for women who have experienced any form of abuse
