“Rights Here. Rights Now.” is a Scotland-wide storytelling and public engagement campaign highlighting how human rights affect everyday life and why stronger human rights protections matter. It aims to strengthen public understanding of human rights and build support for stronger protections, including a Human Rights Bill for Scotland. The campaign is a collaborative project of JustRight Scotland and Human Rights Consortium Scotland, and is funded by The Independent Human Rights Fund for Scotland and Corra Foundation.

Human rights are part of everyday life.
They help protect our health, our homes, our education, our relationships, our privacy and our ability to be heard when decisions affect us.
The stories shared through Rights Here. Rights Now. show how human rights affect real people across Scotland. They show the difference that rights can make when they are respected, and what can happen when they are overlooked. By learning more, sharing stories and challenging misinformation, we can help build a Scotland where everyone’s rights are understood and protected.

You can also write to your politicians urging them to protect human rights by supporting a Human Rights Bill for Scotland and calling for the UK to remain part of the European Convention on Human Rights.

The stories demonstrate why stronger human rights protections matter and why action is needed to ensure everyone’s rights are protected, right here, right now.

Rights Here. Rights Now. brings together stories from people across Scotland whose experiences highlight the importance of human rights in everyday life.
The campaign includes short films and video testimonies covering issues such as health, housing, disability, migration, education, privacy, family life and access to justice.
