Before you make a referral, please check out our legal factsheets and our legal helplines & surgeries to see if they can help you with your query.
We are only able to accept referrals in the areas in which we provide legal advice:
- Our Scottish Women’s Rights Centre supports women aged 16 and over who have been affected by violence and abuse in Scotland.
- Our Scottish Refugee & Migrant Centre works with asylum seekers, refugees and migrants who are women or children, or who are destitute, or who are seeking advice on a family reunion matter.
- Our Scottish Anti-Trafficking & Exploitation Centre supports survivors of trafficking and labour exploitation.
- Our Scottish Just Law Centre works on strategic cases having to do with inequality and disability or trans justice, only taking referrals from organisations (not individuals).
If you think that your legal matter falls within one of our areas of work, please complete the referral form below.
If your legal matter does not fall within any of the above areas of work, then we cannot help you. We are a small and very busy legal service, and we get many referrals every week. We can only take a small number of referrals, and we cannot reply to every referral we receive. We hope you understand that we need to spend our time working for our clients.
If you do not hear from us within 14 days, then please assume that we cannot take your referral. If you do not hear from us, or you cannot wait that long to be contacted, then we suggest that you contact the Law Society of Scotland’s Find a Solicitor service to help you find a lawyer who can help. The Scottish Legal Aid Board also have a Find a Solicitor service.
We do not run an urgent or emergency referral service. If you are at imminent risk of harm, please do not make a referral to us here – instead contact Emergency Services by dialling 999.
